Exactly one year after onetime Vine star Chris Melberger rocked the YouTube world with his Green Day escapade video, he’s back with another video in which he tortures his guitar-playing roommate as well as everybody in the world who doesn’t care for Third Eye Blind.
The premise of the video is the same as the initial offering. Melberger follows around his roommate, who’s frisking different tunes on his guitar. No “doesnt matter where” the roommate is or what he’s playing or who’s he hanging out with, Melberger belts out the opening melodics of Third Eye Blind’s late 1990 s touched “Jumper.”
Melberger’s first prank video implied singing the first few wrinkles of Green Day’s “Good Riddance( Time of Their own lives) ” no matter what his roommate was picking on the guitar. If it was a Blink 182 rendition, Melberger sang, “Another turning point, a crotch stuck in the road.” If it was a Dave Matthews Band cover, Melberger sang, “Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road.”
Quite clearly, it wasn’t a prank in the classic smell since the roommate never changed robes and since Melberger told the Daily Dot, “Why would I be following my friend around the working day while he plays guitar simply to end him with a random age-old Green Day classic? ” It was a placed prank, but it was still funny.
Now, Melberger is back, and as he writes on the YouTube description, “One year later. Same friend. Same guitar. New song.”
The first video thrived a bit tedious until the ending punchline, and the same could be said for the latest escapade( with the exception of the brief shower stage ). But hopefully, you played the video until the very end, because there’s something very sweet about a call-back punchline that was a year in the making.
